Designer of the Day

Embed Designer of the Day on Your Website

Designer of the Day publishes a new feature every day. The image address never changes, but the picture behind it does, so you add the code once and your visitors see today's feature automatically.

How it works

Every day a new picture is published at one fixed address. Your page loads that address, so it always shows the current feature, and a click takes your visitors to Designer of the Day where the full story is told.

Prefer a script? Add one container and one script: the widget draws the style you choose with data-dotd-variant (image, cta or card), in the language of the script address when that language is available. If you cannot run scripts, use the HTML version of the same variant.

Variant A: image only

Today's picture, linked to Designer of the Day. The lightest option.

</a>
<div data-dotd="designeroftheday.com" data-dotd-variant="image"></div>
<script async src="https://designeroftheday.com/feature.js"></script>

Variant B: image and call to action

Today's picture with a call to action underneath.

<a href="https://designeroftheday.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" style="display:block;max-width:100%;color:inherit;text-decoration:none;text-align:center">
  <img src="https://competition.adesignaward.com/designer-of-the-day/today.png" alt="Designer of the Day portrait featuring today's celebrated creative visionary" loading="lazy" style="display:block;max-width:100%;height:auto;margin:0 auto">
  <span style="display:block;margin-top:.5em;font:600 15px/1.3 system-ui,sans-serif">Discover Designer of the Day</span>
</a>
<div data-dotd="designeroftheday.com" data-dotd-variant="cta"></div>
<script async src="https://designeroftheday.com/feature.js"></script>

Variant C: Bootstrap card

A Bootstrap card with the picture, the title of the feature, a short paragraph and a call to action button. Your page needs Bootstrap.

<div class="card" style="max-width:24rem">
  <a href="https://designeroftheday.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img src="https://competition.adesignaward.com/designer-of-the-day/today.png" class="card-img-top" alt="Designer of the Day portrait featuring today's celebrated creative visionary" loading="lazy"></a>
  <div class="card-body">
    <h5 class="card-title">Designer of the Day</h5>
    <p class="card-text">A' Design Award introduces a very talented designer or a world-class architect each day, as the Designer of the Day, presenting the people behind distinguished creative work, their design philosophy, notable projects and achievements.</p>
    <a href="https://designeroftheday.com/" class="btn btn-danger" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Discover Designer of the Day</a>
  </div>
</div>
<div data-dotd="designeroftheday.com" data-dotd-variant="card"></div>
<script async src="https://designeroftheday.com/feature.js"></script>

Option 3: JSON

For developers, apps and automation. The JSON contains the name, the description, the image address, the links and the date. Cross-origin requests are allowed.

fetch("https://designeroftheday.com/feature.json")
  .then(function (r) { return r.json(); })
  .then(function (d) {
    // d.name, d.feature, d.paragraph, d.image, d.url, d.date ...
  });
